Overview

What this service is for.

TAG Systems Associates is registered with the Tanzania Revenue Authority. We advise on tax planning at both national and international level, and carry the compliance calendar on your behalf so that nothing is met late or in a rush.

Where the authorities raise queries or assessments, we deal with them directly and follow the matter through to final assessment.

Capabilities

What we do.

Each engagement is scoped to what the organisation actually needs. The list below is the range we work across, not a package.

Tax planning

Advising on tax planning, both at national and international levels.

Provisional returns

Preparing and filing the provisional return based on estimates provided by you, not later than three months after the commencement of the year of income to which the return relates.

Instalment management

Reminding you immediately before the due date for the second and subsequent instalments of the provisional assessment, to ascertain whether an amended provisional return should be filed — and completing and submitting it to the TRA where it should.

Final return and follow-up

On signature of the financial statements, submitting the return together with the accompanying documents to the Tanzania Revenue Authority and following up until the final assessment has been issued.

Extension applications

Where the financial statements are unlikely to be signed within six months after the accounting date, and on your advice, applying to the Commissioner for Income Tax for an extension of the period in which to file the final return of income.

Authority queries

Attending to routine queries from the tax authorities on your behalf.

Compliance review

Bringing to your attention any tax non-compliance issues that we identify, and advising you accordingly.

Our approach

How we work.

Map the obligations

Establish every filing and payment obligation across the year of income, and who is accountable for each.

Plan before the period

Positions are far less costly to take at the start of a year of income than to defend at the end of one.

Hold the calendar

Provisional returns, instalments, extensions and the final return are tracked so deadlines are met by design.

Engage the authority directly

Queries and assessments are handled through to final assessment, with you informed at each step.
