Local understanding
We work where our clients work. Tanzanian reporting requirements, the local regulatory environment and the realities of operating here are not something we research — they are the ground we stand on.

About the firm
A professional firm of Accountants, Auditors and Tax Consultants, working with the organisations that carry Tanzania’s public and private economy.
The firm
TAG Systems Associates is a professional firm of Accountants, Auditors and Tax Consultants, registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) of the United Republic of Tanzania and with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
The firm provides a wide range of consultancy-based services to the public sector, local government authorities, private enterprise and other institutions — across independent audit, management support services, business and management advisory services, information technology, taxation and related products.
TAG Systems Associates has vast and chain-linked professional experience in local and international management consulting solutions. That experience is what allows the firm to offer holistic, innovative and reliable services to its clients.
Our abilities are strengthened by creating strategic alliances with other stakeholders with whom we share our values — in finance, legal, human resources and the sprawling field of information technology applications, as part of corporate solutions.
Mission & vision
To support and guide clients to achieve success in their business by acting as their trusted business advisors.
To provide quality, cost-effective, personalised and innovative business solutions that meet the changing needs of our clients.

We believe in recruiting and retaining sound, professional staff, and in providing training and opportunities for growth in a stimulating and enabling environment. We are dedicated to maintaining a strong internal administration, which is what makes consistent quality of service — and client satisfaction — possible.
At TAG Systems Associates, relationships are our top priority. We strongly believe that good relationships with our stakeholders are a prerequisite to our success.
Why TAG
Every statement below is drawn from how the firm actually works. We make no claims we cannot stand behind.
We work where our clients work. Tanzanian reporting requirements, the local regulatory environment and the realities of operating here are not something we research — they are the ground we stand on.
Registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors and with the Tanzania Revenue Authority. Audits conducted in accordance with the International Standards on Auditing.
Our audit methodology is built on a risk-based approach: effort is directed by judgement about where exposure actually sits, rather than by a uniform programme.
Advice is written to be implemented. We stay through delivery, because a recommendation that is never acted on has cost the client money and returned nothing.
Audit, tax, finance, technology and people sit in one firm. Problems that cross those boundaries — as most real ones do — do not have to cross firms.
Relationships are our top priority. Good relationships with our stakeholders are a prerequisite to our success, not a by-product of it.
Choosing an auditor
When you are seeking external audit and other service providers of outstanding calibre and integrity, the questions are always the same: who is on the team, how will they work, and what will you actually receive.
Exceptional breadth and depth of audit experience and specialist expertise; a strong understanding of the controls and processes of funded projects; and a track record of delivering outsourced external audit services in the East African market.
Investing the time needed to understand and build strong working relationships with management; using a methodology proven in practice that reflects best global practice; sharing our knowledge and best-practice developments; and developing clear, open reporting and communication.
Innovative and flexible to suit your needs; delivering an immediate assessment of identified higher-risk areas; and focused on delivering the appropriate level of external financial audit requirement — no more, and no less.
Our people
To complete a complex assignment it is essential to mobilise the right team. We bring together a blend of experts so that you get the technical expertise the assignment calls for, delivered to international standards.
Teams are assembled from the disciplines a piece of work actually needs, rather than from whoever is free. Complex assignments draw a blend of specialists.
Work is planned, controlled, recorded and reviewed, and reviewed again against the firm's quality control standards before any opinion is signed.
The firm's stated aim is to empower its people through continuous professional development so they can meet dynamic global challenges.
The firm participates in shared professional standards and internationally developed technical manuals with collaborating firms.
How the firm is structured
Senior and associate partners carry engagement responsibility across audit, finance and consulting. A partner signs every opinion the firm issues.
Dedicated taxation and information technology managers lead their own practices and are brought onto engagements that touch them.
Qualified accountants direct field teams on individual assignments and are the client's day-to-day point of contact.
Qualified and part-qualified professionals deliver the audit fieldwork under a team leader's direction.
Graduates recruited into the firm and developed through structured professional training towards CPA(T) qualification.
